Materials Required

  • A brown cardboard sheet
  • A pair of Scissors
  • A pair of googly eyes
  • A black Pen or a marker
  • Red colored clay
  • A cabbage leaf
  • A paint brush
  • Poster colors ( Green color, White color )

Procedure

Step 1: Taking The Cabbage Leaf And Place It On The Cardboard

Take a brown cardboard sheet and cut it into a circle. Get a cabbage leaf that is tall enough to cover the diameter of a cardboard circle, or even close.

Step 2: Painting The Cabbage Leaf Using Poster Colors, Green And White

Using a paintbrush with green color, paint on both the sides of cabbage leaf and paint the white in the center space.

Step 3: Drawing The Branches Using The White Colored Poster Paint

Draw the branches using white paint.

Step 4: Placing The Side Of The Painted Cabbage On The Paper To Get An Impression

Try to get the paint done as fast as you can so that you do not have a partial, incomplete or dull imprint. To get the impression, place the painted side if the cabbage leaf upon the paper, with the unpainted side facing you. Put a light yet firm pressure to imprint the texture and the colors.

Step 5: Getting The Imprint And See That It Turned Out Right

After applying the right amount of pressure, release the cabbage leaf from the paper slowly. Quickly check very thoroughly that the imprint appears good.

Step 6: Getting The Red Clay And Position On The Right Side Of The Tree

Place the piece of red clay beside the left of the tree, only a little upwards from below. The clay must be in a circular shape.

Step 7: Using The Black Pen, Give The Final Details To The Clay Bug
