Materials Required

  • A Pair Of Scissors
  • A Popsicle Stick
  • Black Pen
  • Glue
  • Googly Eyes
  • Lavender Craft Paper
  • Toothpick

Procedure

Step 1: Taking The Lavender Colored Craft Paper And Cut It

Take the lavender-colored plain sheet of paper. Using a pair of scissors cut a circle out of the paper.

Step 2: Folding It In The Manner Shown Below

Fold the circle very precisely as shown in the above image. Make sure the folds are equal and the creases are visible.

Step 3: Bringing All The Creased Folds Together For This Step

After making the creases, bring together the folds so that it looks as shown in the above reference image.

Step 4: For The Next Step, Fold It To Make The Wings

Now, in this step, fold it from the middle.

Step 5: Grabing Your Glue And Stick The Middle Fold

Now, get hold of your glue and paste the smallest fold that occurs in the center. It must look like the image presented above.

Step 6: Making Another One To Get Both The Wings Of The Butterfly

To get both the wings of the butterfly, make a similar wing using the above steps. Keep them against each other in a way that their center points meet and paste them using glue.

Step 7: Taking A Popsicle Now And Place It In The Center

Take the popsicle stick not and place it in the center of both wings. Make sure the thinner side is upward and paste it.

Step 8: Picking Up Those Googly Eyes And Stick Them

Grab those googly eyes and using the glue paste them at the top of the popsicle stick.

Step 9: Picking Up The Black Pen And Draw On The Popsicle

Using a black marker or a black pen, draw an arc for the smile below the googly eyes. From the center of the popsicle, start drawing the arcs to make the body, from one end to another.

Step 10: Taking Stripes Of The Same Lavender Paper

Cut out a thin strip from the same lavender paper.

Step 11: Taking The Assistance Of A Toothpick And Curl The Strips

Take a toothpick and wrap the strip around it from both ends, leaving some space in the middle.

Step 12: Pasting The Curled Strips Behind The Popsicle

Fold the strip from the center and paste it behind the popsicle stick, in a way that the uncurled portion is also visible. Refer to the picture above.
