Easy-to-make Mobile Holder Craft With Straw Tutorial for Kids

Create a cool mobile holder made out of straws with this simple tutorial! It’s a fun and easy activity for kids and a great way to fight boredom.

It’s a phone holder made out of straws which can come in very handy a lot of times. Using this holder whenever you are on your phone can also help improve your posture. Materials Required

Ten Drinking Straws
A Pair Of Scissors
A Glue Gun

Procedure

Step 1: Place Two Straws On The Table

Take two drinking straws and cut off the stretchable sides of each straw and place them on the table, vertically at a distance from each other with a little slant. See the picture below for reference.

Step 2: Cut Small Pieces From The Straw

Take another straw and cut off the stretchable end of it as well. Now, cut this trimmed straw into two pieces, one larger than the other. Place both the piece between the two straws you placed on the table earlier. The longer one is a little above the bottom ends and the smaller one is a little below the top ends as shown in the picture below.

Step 3: Pasting The Pieces Together

With a glue gun paste the two small pieces with the straws on the sides by applying glue on the points where the pieces join the straws. See the picture below for reference.

Step 4: Cutting Yet Another Small Piece

Cut a small piece out of a straw and then make another cut throughout the vertical side of this piece as shown in the picture below.

Step 5: Fitting The Piece Into The Structure

Opening the piece, fit it around the smaller piece bridged that bridged between the straws in the second step. See the picture below for reference.

Step 6: Connect Another Straw To The Structure

Take another straw and trim off its stretchable end and paste this straw in the middle of the piece you fitted in the previous step. See the picture below for reference.

Step 7: Levelling This Pasted Straw With The Structure

Drag this straw down to the level of the structure lying below it. See the picture below for reference.

Step 8: Trimming The Excess Straw Off

Using a pair of scissors, trim the excess straw off at the bottom as shown in the picture below.

Step 9: Cutting Some More Pieces Of Straw

Take some straws and cut four pieces off of the bendable, compressed part of the drinking straw. Now, paste two pieces, horizontally at the ends of the bridged straw at the bottom section of the structure. Finally, place the other two pieces, following the same pattern on the sides of the already pasted pieces. See the picture below for reference.

Step 10: Connect A Piece Of Straw Between The Straw In The Middle And The Structure Below

Take a straw and cut a medium-sized piece out of it. Half of the piece should comprise the compressed bendable part of the straw and the other half should comprise the smoother normal part of the straw. Now, paste the compressed end of this straw to the bridged piece at the bottom of the structure and the other end to the straw in the middle. See the picture below for reference.

Step 11: Decompress The Straw That You Just Posted

Decompress the straw that you just pasted to make the space wider between the middle straw and the structure. See the picture below for reference. The straw in the middle will now act as a stand and the structure at the phone holder.

Finally, The Holder Stand Is Ready

Placing the stand on the table, you can place the phone on the holder and enjoy using your phone.
