  • Googly eye
  • A red, dark green, light blue, and black marker
  • A paintbrush. Poster colors of light green and yellow colors
  • A white circular sheet
  • An ear swab

Instructions

Step 1: Paint Grass in the Background

Take the white circular sheet, light green poster colors, and the old toothbrush. Paint the bottom part of the circular sheet using the toothbrush and light green poster color. Paint as shown in the picture to make grass.

Step 2: Craft the Hedgehog’s Face

Take some white clay dough and give it the shape of a hedgehog’s face. Use your fingers to give it the desired shape and place it on the sheet. Refer to the picture for help.

Step 3: Craft the Hedgehog’s Body

Take some brown clay dough. Use your fingers and palm to give it the desired shape. Make it look like a hedgehog’s body. For reference, look at the picture. Place the crafted clay on the sheet just beside the hedgehog’s face.

Step 4: Quills of Hedgehog

Take a handful of sunflower seeds. These seeds would be used to make the quills of the hedgehog. Place the seeds on its body one by one. To set the seeds on the body, penetrate them slightly inside the clay.

Step 5: Placing Sunflower Seeds

Place the seeds first on the outer body and then place them on the inner body of the hedgehog. Look at the picture for reference.

Step 6: Make the Ear and Nose of the Hedgehog

Take some red and white clay dough. For the nose, take red clay and make a small ball. Place it on the sheet beside the face of the hedgehog. For the ear, take some white clay dough and give it a shape similar to the ear. Place it on the face. Please look at the picture for reference.

Step 7: Eyes of the Hedgehog

For the eye, take a googly eye and place it on the face of the hedgehog.

Step 8: Detailing on the Hedgehog

Take some red clay dough and make 3-4 small balls. Place these balls on the sunflower seeds(quills) of the hedgehog. Now, take some pink clay dough and make a very small ball. Place it on the cheek of the hedgehog. Then, take a black marker to draw a smile on the hedgehog’s face.

Step 9: Sky in the Background

Take some red clay dough and give it the shape of a disk. Place it on the paper as shown in the picture to make a sun.

Step 10: Complete the Sun

By using a red marker, draw the sun rays around the sun.

Step 11: Plant in the Background

Take a paintbrush and light green poster color to draw a plant as shown in the picture.

Step 12: Detailing on the Grass

By using a dark green marker, add some detailing on the grass.

Step 13: Final Touch-up

Take an ear swab and yellow poster color to make flowers on the grass. Finally, by using a light blue marker, make clouds in the background. Now you have successfully made a hedgehog by using clay and sunflower seeds. Congratulations!
