Materials Required

  • White Circular Paper Sheet
  • Red Paper
  • Scissors
  • Double-Sided Tape
  • Googly Eyes
  • Grass Strips
  • Pencil

Procedure

Step 1: Sticking Double-Sided Tape

Begin this craft by taking a white circular paper sheet as the base for your craft, a pencil, and double-sided tape. Using the pencil, draw a small circle in the middle of the base. Paste layers of double-sided tape in the circle.

Step 2: Sticking Artificial Grass Layer

Remove the peel of the double-sided tape and stick the end of an artificial grass strip in the center of the drawn circle.

Step 3: Making A Spiral

Roll the artificial grass strip into a spiral over the double-sided tape.

Step 4: Making More Spirals

Over the base make a horizontal line of spirals in the same way you made the previous one. This will be the body of the caterpillar.

Step 5: Making A Larger Spiral

Over the left end of the spiral line, draw a relatively larger circle above it and apply layers of double-sided tape to the circle. Now, following the same, start making a spiral in this circle using the artificial grass strip.

Step 6: Making The Face Of The Caterpillar

Complete making the spiral in the circle to make the face of the caterpillar.

Step 7: Bending An Artificial Grass Strand And Apply Tape

For the next step, take an artificial grass strand and bend it as shown in the image. Also, apply double-sided tape at the end of the grass on the strand.

Step 8: Twisting And Pasting The Grass Strand

Now, twist the grass strand from the top to make a ball-like structure in the between.

Step 9: Cutting Out The Extra Part

Using scissors, cut out the extra part of the grass strand over the ball. This will now be the antenna of the caterpillar.

Step 10: Adding Antennas To The Caterpillar

Following the same, make another antenna of the caterpillar and use double-sided tape paste both over the face tilted outward as shown in the image.

Step 11: Pasting Googly Eyes

Paste 2 googly eyes over the face side by side on the upper half of the face using double-sided tape.

Step 12: Making Mouth Of The Caterpillar

Using scissors, cut out a small circle for the mouth of the caterpillar and paste it below and in between the eyes over the face.

Step 13: Making Legs Of The Caterpillar

Cut out the sticks from the grass strands using scissors and using double-sided tape, and paste 2 underneath one spiral of the body to make the legs of the caterpillar.

This Is The Final Look Of Your Grass Caterpillar!

For the last step, make the legs underneath every spiral of its body. Also, cut out a heart from red paper using scissors and using double-sided tape paste it above the caterpillar on the base as shown in the image.

Woohoo! You have successfully and your own caterpillar craft like a pro!
