Material Used:
- Ginkgo Leaves
- Red, Brown, And Yellow Leaves
- Yellow And White Construction Paper
- Googly Eyes
- Glue
- Scissors
- Black Marker
Procedure
Step -1: Preparing The Ginkgo Leaves
To start, collect several ginkgo leaves, preferably fresh ones, of similar sizes. You will need around 8-10 leaves for this craft.
Step -2: Shaping The Leaves
Trim the ginkgo leaves at the base to create a shape similar to the one shown.
Step -3: Preparing The Base
Cut a circle shape from white construction paper for the base and apply glue to it.
Step -4: Pasting The Leaves
Attach the ginkgo leaves to the white cutout.
Step -5: Making The Body Of The Caterpillar
To create the body of the caterpillar, stack the ginkgo leaves on top of each other with a slight overlap, leaving a small space at the top of each leaf, as shown in the picture. Use glue to attach the leaves together.
Step -6: Making The Caterpillar Head
Cut a circle shape out of yellow construction paper to create the caterpillar’s head.
Step -7: Making The Eyes
Attach two googly eyes to the yellow paper circle.
Step -8: Attaching The Head To The Body Of The Caterpillar
Using glue, affix the head of the caterpillar to its body.
Step -9: Adding Details
Use a black marker to draw a mouth and tentacles on the head of the caterpillar.
Step -10: Adding Legs To The Caterpillar
To create the legs of the caterpillar, use a black marker to draw thin, curved lines starting from the bottom of the body and extending outward.
Step -11: Adding Details To The Background
To create the ground we will use leaves of various colors. To attach these leaves, first, apply glue to the bottom of the caterpillar.
Step -12: Making The Ground
Take leaves of various colors and cut them into small pieces. Attach these pieces below the caterpillar, creating a colorful and textured background.
Step -13: Making The Sun
Take a red leaf and cut it into a circular shape to create the sun.
Step -14: Affixing The Sun To The Background
Apply glue to the back of the red leaf sun and attach it to the top right corner of the background. This will add a vibrant pop of color and bring the whole craft together.
Step -15: Adding Final Details
Use a marker to add the final details to the sun.
Final Step: Displaying Your Caterpillar
