Simple Cactus Desert Artwork Craft Using Clay

Materials Required

Oil Pastels
Colored Clay
Clay knife
White Sheet
Black And White Marker
Green And Red Sketch Pen

Procedure

Step 1: Outlining The Palm

For the first step, cut out a white circular sheet using scissors. Place your palm in the center of the paper and outline your palm using a pencil.

Step 2: Making Cactus

From a black marker make a cactus using the palm outline as shown in the image.

Step 3: Coloring the Cactus

Color your cactus, starting from the top using dark green color oil pastel and mix it with lime from the mid.

Step 4: Mixing Colors

Complete the cactus coloring with a yellow shade at the end and keep the very end uncolored.

Step 5: Doughing Clay To Make Leaves

Dough a green-colored clay and paste it over the top to form a leaf shape.

Step 6: Adding Texture To The Leaf

Using a clay knife, make the leaf texture over the clay leaf.

Step 7: Making More Leaves

Follow the same steps and make 3-3 leaves on every cactus.

Step 8: Doughing A Brown Clay

For the ground, dough a brown clay and form a long rounded layer of clay. Make sure to keep its length to cover the ground portion over the sheet.

Step 9: Making Ground

Press the clay evenly below the cactus to form the ground, and dab over it to give the desert effect.

Step 10: Adding Details with Markers and Sketch Pens

Using markers and sketch pens, add more details to your artwork. Draw small green and red flowers on the surface. Using a black marker make dots and dashes to make them look like spines.

Step 11: Creating Ladybug

Take red clay and shape it into a small flatten ball. This will be the body of a ladybug.

Step 12: Making Head and Legs

Using black clay, shape a smaller ball to create the head of the ladybug. Attach the head to the red clay body. Mold thin pieces of black clay to form the legs, and carefully attach them to the body.
