Materials Required

  • Construction Paper (Orange, Black. White, Red)
  • Paint Stick (White)
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Procedure

Step 1: Folding An Orange Paper

To begin with, this craft, take an orange paper of 15×15 cm dimension. Fold it in half three times and then unfold it to get creases as shown. Fold one strip along the crease and then fold another strip in the opposite direction. Repeat this process by ensuring that each pair of adjacent strips is folded in the opposite direction.

Step 2: Applying Glue

Now, using a white paint stick, apply circular paint patches on one-half of the paper strips as shown.

 Step 3: Folding The Strips Together

Now, collect all the strips together as shown.

Step 4: Making The Arms Of Octopus

Fold the paper strips in half. Paste the ends of the strips together, you will get a Chinese paper fan. This paper fan will represent the arms of the octopus.

Step 5: Making The Eyes

Take an orange paper and cut a circle out of it. Paste the circle on top of the paper fan. With black and white paper, make eyes for the octopus. Paste them on its face.

Step 6: Making The Octopus Smile

Take a piece of red paper and cut a small semi-circle out of it. Paste it on the face to make a smile for the octopus. You can make more such octopuses with different colored papers.
