Materials Required

  • Straws (two small and one big)
  • Craft paper (Red, Yellow, Blue, Green)
  • Paper clip
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Something pointy
  • Transparent tape
  • Small sponge

Procedure

Step 1: Assemble all the Materials Required for the Craft

Your first step is to assemble all the materials required for this craft. Materials such as two small straws, one big straw, and four different colours of craft paper (Red, Yellow, Blue, and Green) cut all the craft paper into a circle with the help of scissors and one paper clip, which you will need to open it fully and make it into a straight clip.

Step 2: Bend the Small Straw

Now, take one of the small straws. After taking one small straw, bend the small straw from the middle as shown.

Step 3: Cut from the Bent Part of the Straw

With the help of the scissors, the part which you have bent the straw/middle part of the straw. You don’t have to cut fully, you just need to cut both extreme corners of the bent part of the straw as shown. After cutting you will get a small diamond shape.

Now, take the part of the straw which you have cut in the above step and take another small straw. Then, insert another straw in the diamond shape part of the straw which you have cut.

After inserting another small straw in the diamond-cut shape of the straw, you will get a plus sign as shown.

Now, take something pointy and poke a hole in the middle of the plus sign straws as shown in the picture.

With the help of scissors, cut each side of the plus sign straws in a slanted way. Do this step very carefully and do not cut the straw fully as it will ruin the craft.

Now, take the different coloured circles craft paper and insert it in the slant cut part of each straw. For this you do not need glue or anything, just insert the different coloured craft papers.

Step 9: Bend the Paper Clip

Now, take the opened paper clip. After taking the opened paper clip, bend it. Bend the opened paper clip in such a way it forms the letter ‘L’.

Take a small sponge-type thing. Insert the small sponge through the paper clip. Insert the sponge where the letter ‘L’ is formed in the paper clip/short part of the paper clip.

Now, attach the paper clip which has a small sponge inserted through it to the big straw. Stick it with the help of transparent tape.
