Cute Paper & Popsicle Stick Penguin Craft For Beginners

Making a penguin craft is simple and fun! You don’t need much – just paper and popsicle sticks. Our instructions will guide you through the process so you can make your own special penguin. It’s easy enough for a beginner and enjoyable for any age.

This tutorial brings to you penguins made out of sheets of paper pasted on an ice cream stick. You just need some coloured sheets of paper and ample dexterity to make it. It is absolutely simple and fun to create and will teach you a lot. So, collect all the material required to make it and let’s get going.

Materials Required

• A black and a white sheet of paper
• A yellow, a blue and an orange sheet of paper
• A small paper flower
• A glue stick
• A pair of scissors
• Masking tape
• Procedure

Procedure

Step 1: Starting With A Sheet Of Paper

Take a black sheet of paper and cut a circle out of it. Now, take a masking tape and cut a long strip out of and stick it in the middle of the circular sheet ,vertically. Then cut two smaller strips out of the same tape and stick them in the middle of the same side of the sheet ,horizontally. Finally, peel the tape off as shown in the picture below

Step 2: Pasting The White Circle

Take a white sheet of paper and cut a circle out . The circle should have the same diameter as the black circular sheet. Paste this white circle on the sticky side of the black circle. See the picture below for reference.

Step 3: Folding The Pasted Sheet

Fold the pasted sheets from the sides making two slopes on each side as shown in the picture below. Press down on the folds to seal the shape.

Step 4: Making Another Fold

Make another fold above these slopes of creating a flat surface at the top. Apply a little glue on the inner sides of this flat surface at paste it to the surface of the sheet below. Do not paste the entire fold. This fold at the fold will act as the head of the penguin and the side folds as its wings. See the picture below for reference.

Step 5: Making Two Eyes From Sheets Of Paper

Take a white sheet of paper and cut two circles out. Now, make a big circle in the middle of both the eyes, then make two smaller circles inside this circle with a sketch pen. Colour the circle you first drew with the same pen leaving the two circles inside uncoloured. Paste both the circles on the head of the penguin next to each other as shown in the picture below.

Step 6: Making The Beak Of The Penguin

Take a small orange sheet of paper and fold it in the middle Now, cut a small conical shape out of this small folded sheet leaving the fold intact. Now, paste this conical shape at the bottom end to the head of the penguin as shown in the picture below.

Step 7: Making The Feet Of The Penguin

Take a yellow sheet of paper and make two small feet with three claws each on it. Cut the feet shapes out and paste them at the bottom end of the penguin’s body at a distance from each other. Follow the picture below for reference.

Step 8: Sticking The Ice Cream Stick On The Body

Take an ice cream stick and stick it on the back of the penguin, in the middle of the black side of the sheet as shown in the picture below.

Step9: Making A Hat For The Penguin

Take a blue sheet of paper and cut out a small hat shape out of it. Now, draw horizontal dotted lines at the top of the rim of this paper hat . Finally, paste it at the top left corner of the paper penguin as shown in the picture below.

Making More Such Penguins

Make on more paper penguin following the same steps with a slight improvisation. Instead of a hat, paste a paper flower at the top right corner of this paper penguin. See the picture below for reference.

This completes the process of making these lovely penguins. You can hang it on the walls of your room or next to your window. You can also make an act out of these penguins with the help of the ice cream sticks and have a playful time out of it. You learned good folding and pasting skills in this tutorial.
