DIY Easy Paper Penguin Craft For Preschoolers

They live in extremely cold weather and have a significantly unique build. They are neither mammals nor amphibians besides the fact that they can survive both underwater and on land. They can’t fly but are classified as birds, flightless birds. Their bodies have shiny, vibrant black-and-white colors with a touch of yellow here and there. They walk on their two claws standing up, and dragging them sideways, not something that you are used to seeing in your average standard birds. Today, we are going to make many of them using basic sheets of paper. Let’s go.

Material Used

• Sheets Of Chart Paper In Colour Sky Blue, Lavender, Black, And Red.
• Googly Eyes
• An Orange Crayon
• A Glue Stick
• A Pair Of Scissors

Procedure

Step 1: Working With The Colored Sheets

Take a blue sheet of paper and place it on the table. Now, start cutting the lavender sheet of paper at the top. The cuts should be made naturally just with your hands making a wave-like design. This design should closely resemble the ocean waves as shown in the picture below. This is going to act as an iceberg in the ocean.

Step 2: Pasting The Iceberg On The Ocean

Paste the lavender sheet on the sky blue sheet joining the flat sides of the smaller sheet with the bottom sides of the bigger sheet so that the wave design falls right in the middle of the blue sheet as shown in the image below.

Step 3: Making The Penguins.

Take a black sheet of paper and draw a big egg shape on it and cut the shape out with the help of scissors. Apply some glue to this egg shape.

Step 4: Pasting The Egg Shape

Paste the egg shape on both sheets. Half the egg should be pasted on the blue sheet and the other half on the lavender one.

Step 5: Pasting The Belly On The Egg

Take a lavender sheet of paper and cut out a small egg shape. It should be smaller than the black egg. Paste it on the black egg towards the bottom end. The black egg will serve as the body of the penguin and the lavender one will serve as the belly of the penguin. See the picture below for reference.

Step 6: Pasting The Beak

On a red sheet of paper, draw a small conical shape and cut it out. Paste this shape upside down, on the top end of the belly.

Step 7:Giving It a Pair Of Eyes

Paste both the googly eyes next to each other above the conical beak. They should be pasted on the black sheet as shown in the picture below.

Step 8: Make Two Flippers

Take a black sheet of paper and draw two right-angled triangles on it and cut the shapes out. Paste them on the sides of the body as shown in the picture below. These will act as the flippers of the penguin.

Step 9: Cutting a Bigger Conical Shape

Take a red sheet of paper and cut out a conical shape using a pair of scissors. Now, make a small fold at the tip of the cone turning it sideways making a triangular shape at the top.

Step 10: Adding Some Coziness

Paste this red conical shape at the head of the penguin as shown in the picture. The penguin now has a hat.

Step 11: Drawing a Pair Of Claws

With the help of an orange crayon, draw three lines right below the body on the lavender sheet of paper. Make sure to connect the lines with each other at the top giving it the shape of a claw. Draw similar lines next to them to complete the pair.

Making More Penguins

Following the same steps, make two more penguins and paste them on the sheets as shown in the picture below.
