We have kept this article more specific to elephants. Elephants are the giant creatures on this planet. Kids are fond of elephants and their big trunks and ears attract every child.

These holidays let’s create our handmade elephants out of tiny things available at home. Surely it will be fun. So, let’s begin with the first one.

E for elephant

  • Materials required: Coloured paper sheets, scissors, glue.
  • Difficulty level: Very Easy
  • Suitable age: 7-10 years

Take a colour sheet of paper and cut it according to the shape of the alphabet E. Cut the shape of the ear and trunk from the coloured sheet. Paste alphabet E, ear and trunk on another coloured sheet of paper using glue. Cut a white sheet of paper according to the shape of eyes and paws. Paste them in their respective place using glue.

  • Materials required: Empty toilet paper roll, tissue, glue, marker
  • Difficulty level: Easy
  • Suitable age: 9-13 years

Take several empty toilet paper rolls and paste them as shown in the figure to form the shape of the elephant using glue. Paste the tissue over these toilet paper rolls so that a wrinkly look of the elephant skin is formed.

Take a coloured sheet of paper and paste the cupcake liners on it using glue. Cut the shape of legs, ears and trunk from the grey chart sheet and paste them at their respective places on the cupcake liner. Paste the googly eyes at the head area.

Take a pattern sheet and fold it at the centre and draw the shape of the elephant on it. Cut the outline of this elephant using Scissors. We will get the 2 elephants connected. Repeat this process thrice, so that 3 pairs of elephants are made. Paste all the elephants in the form of frame shape using glue.

  • Suitable age: 8-11 years

Take a disposable plate and colour it grey from its backside using a paintbrush. Now cut the shape of ears, trunk, eyes and forehead from coloured sheets. Paste them in their respective places. Get some gems and paste them around the forehead region using glue.

Take a piece of cardboard and cut it in the shape of an elephant. Place this elephant shape over the canvas and use it as a stencil and paint all over the canvas. Remove the elephant stencil and our painting is ready.

Take a sheet of paper and draw various boxes on it using a pencil. Now colour these boxes and draw an elephant on them using a pencil. Cut the outline of the elephant using Scissors. Paste one Googly eye using glue.

This elephant is too simple to make using pattern sheets. Just a few Little folds with twists and turns are required and you’re done. Paste the elephant on any coloured sheet.

Heart faced elephant

  • Suitable age: 8-11 years

Take the colourful sheet of paper and cut it in the form of a heart shape (2), these will represent the ears of the elephant. Now cut the shape of the face but the trunk should be attached to the face as shown in the figure above. Paste every cutting at their proper respective places using glue. Also, paste the googly eyes.

Take the plastic can, remove its cap and cut it a little bit from the bottom and paint it with different colours as used in the image. Now cut the shape of the ears, trunk and legs from cardboard pieces and paste them at their respective places using glue. Colour these added ears, legs and trunks same as coloured for the body.

Take the chart paper and draw an elephant on it using a pencil. Now with the help of pencil colours colour it as shown in the picture. To represent the trunk, place a little curved piece of washi tape around the nose region.
