Materials Required
- Sheets of paper in two different shades of blue
- A pair of scissors
- Glue stick
- Sheets of paper in the color green
- A white sheet of paper
- Black sketch pen
- White sketch pen
- Pink and black playdough
Procedure
Step 1: Starting With The Blue Sheets Of Paper
Take a sheet of paper in color blue and start cutting its edges in the shape of cloud linings. Now, take a sheet of paper in color in a shade of blue lighter than the previous one. Repeat the process on this sheet as well but remember to make it a little smaller than the already-shaped sheet. Finally, paste the smaller sheet in the middle of the bigger one.
Step 2: Folding The Green Sheets Of Paper
Take a green sheet of paper and cut two thin and long strips out of it. Now, placing the end of one of the strip horizontally, on the end of the other strip positioned vertically, start making folds with each sheet by passing them on top of each other taking alternate turns with the sheets. See the picture below for reference.
Step 3: Sealing The Ends Of The Folds
Repeat the process until you reach the ends of both strips and paste the ends together to seal the shape.
Step 4: Jumping Spring Is Ready
This leaves us with a paper spring which will be later used to make the frogs look jumpy in the craft.
Step 5: Making More Such Springs
Using more green sheets and repeating the previous steps, make seven such paper springs in total.
Step 6: Applying Glue On The Springs
Take a glue stick and apply some on the base of all the paper springs that you just made.
Step 7: Pasting The Spring On The Sheet
Paste a paper spring on the top left corner of the blue sheet as shown in the picture below.
Step 8: Pasting All The Springs On The Sheet
Paste all the paper springs on the same sheet, six near the peripheries of the sheet following a circular pattern and one in the middle of the sheet. See the picture below to understand the pattern.
Step 9: Cutting Some Lotus Leaves Out Of Paper
Take a green sheet of paper and cut three small circles. Now, shape the circumference of each circle in the shape of cloud linings. You need to have three such shapes in total. This shall act as the lotus leaves in the craft.
Step 10: Making Some Drawings Of These Shapes
Using a black sketch pen, make lotus leaf patterns on each leaf by making curved lines starting from the middle of the leaf up to its circumference as shown in the picture below.
Step 11: Making The Frog Heads
Take some more green sheets of paper and cut three small circles out of it. Now, using the same green sheet, cut out six tiny little circles as well. Finally, paste two tiny circles on each bigger circle that you created in this step earlier. The circles should be pasted on the top section of the bigger circle, right next to each other. Observe the picture below to understand the order.
Step 12: Making The Eyes Of The Frogs
Cut six even smaller circles out of a white sheet of paper and paste them in the middle of the tiny green circles that you just pasted in the previous step. Now, using a black sketch pen, make a curved line on each white circle. See the picture below for reference. The big circle shall act as the head of the frog.
Step 13: Adding More Features To The Frog Face
Using the same sketch pen, draw two closely placed dots in the middle of the head of the frog and a smiley below these dots. Now, take pink clay dough and mold six tiny flat circle shapes out of it. Finally, place the molds on both ends of the smiley.
Step 14: Doing The Same To All The Frog Faces
Repeat the process on all three prog faces by drawing the nose, and a smiley, and placing the clay dough.
Step 15: Making A Lotus Flower
Take a white sheet of paper and draw a lotus flower on it. Color the flower using different shades of pink and purple. Finally, cut the shape out and paste it on the top of the paper spring already pasted in the middle of the blue sheet. Now, paste the lotus leaves on three alternate springs pasted near the circumference of the blue sheet. Look at the picture below to understand the pattern.
Step 16: Pasting The Frogs
Paste the frog heads on the rest of the springs pasted on the sheet as shown in the picture below.
Step 17: Making Tiny Little Tadpoles
Take some black clay dough and taking tiny amounts on your fingertip, flatten it on the sheet by pressing down on it. Make ten such tadpoles scattered across the blue sheet. Now, using a black sketch pen, draw tails on the backs of these tadpoles to complete the picture.
Step 18: Adding Finishing Details To The Craft
Take a white sketch pen and make two small curved lines on the sheet before each tadpole. See the picture below for reference.
Happy Little Jumping Frogs Is Ready!
There you have it, three little frogs floating on the waters next to the lotus flowers and leaves prepared to take a leap anytime.
