Material Used

• Dried Or Pressed Leaves
• Coloured Paper
• Pair Of Scissors
• Glue

Procedure

Step 1: Leaf Collection And Shaping The Design

Choose any leaf you like. You can collect them from your garden or local park. Press and dry. Take a big leaf and cut an oval shape from it.

Step 2: Make An Incision On The Leaf

On the cut oval shape make a ‘V’ shaped marking. Cut along the outline.

Step 3: Inserting a Human Body Shape Into The Incision

Take coloured paper and cut out a humanoid-like shape. You can use a stencil and create cartoon characters as well. Insert the body into the incision previously cut.

Step 4: Giving Shape To The Doll

Stick the leaf and cutout onto card paper to make it sturdy.

Step 5: Adding Colourful Leaf Accessories

Take a new leaf and trace out the torso for the body. Stick it as shown in the figure above.

Step 6: Adding The Body Parts

Paste the lower body part as depicted. You can use any coloured artificial or fallen leaf.

Step 7: Adding More Colour To The Craft

Choose two more leaves and paste them as fins. We are making a mermaid, but you can let your creative juices flow! Do not hold back from experimenting with new cartoon characters!
