Snow Crafts And Activities For Winter
Winter has come and snow has covered everything. Everything looks white as if we are in a fairyland. Outdoor activities have seized but let’s have fun inside our warm cozy homes. This winter let’s try out these and boost up your creative and innovative minds. If you’re bored and want to have some fun, then continue reading this article. Snow Craft And Activities For Winter
Cotton Make Up Pad Snowman
- Materials required:Â Cotton makeup pads, buttons, fabric glue, ribbon, twigs, piece of cloth, beads.
- Difficulty level:Â Easy
- Suitable age: 7-12 years
Take some makeup pads and paste them one over the other using fabric glue. Now get a piece of cloth and cut it in the shape of a hat and paste it at the top of the cotton pads which we have already assembled. To make eyes, paste black coloured beads. Paste the buttons at the belly area of the snowman.
Paste two twigs that will denote the arms of the snowman. Tie the ribbon around the neck of the snowman.
Puffy Snow Flakes
- Materials required: Coloured sheet, glue, white pom poms, pencil.
- Difficulty level: Very Easy
- Suitable age: 6-12 years
Take the coloured sheet of paper and using a pencil draw the shape of snowflakes. Now squeeze the glue bottle and allow the glue to pass on the paper according to the marks outlined on the paper. Get the pom poms balls and paste them on the paper to create the shape of the snowflakes.
Paper Snowflakes
- Materials required: Paper, pencil, scissors, yarn, glue.
- Difficulty level: Easy
- Suitable age: 8-14 years
Get a white sheet of paper and cut it in a circular shape. Make such many circular-shaped papers. Now fold these circular sheets to create a cone type shape out of them. Take the pencil and marks some lines on the cone-shaped papers but the lines should be drawn only up to the middle part and the bottom of the cone should be kept in place.
Using scissors cut the lines marked and open these cone-shaped papers. After opening these, you’ll find circular snowflakes will be formed. Now using glue paste all these snowflakes on the yarn in a straight line. Hang these flakes on your Windows.
Glittering Snow
- Materials required: Bicarbonate soda powder, shaving cream, glitter powder, bowl.
- Difficulty level: Very Easy
- Suitable age: 7-13 years
Take an empty bowl and fill it with 500g of bicarbonate soda. Now add some shaving cream to this bowl and mix it well. Take the glitter powder and add this to the bowl and mix vigorously. Let it freeze for some time. After a few minutes, our frozen glitter snow is ready.
Foamy Snow
- Materials required: Shaving cream, frozen baking soda, container.
- Difficulty level: Very Easy
- Suitable age: 8-12 years
Take an empty container and pour some frozen baking soda into it. Start adding shaving cream to this mixture till we want the desired consistency of the foamy snow. Once we are satisfied, stop adding shaving cream further and our foamy snow is ready for playing.
Shiny Snow Slime
- Materials required: Slime, bowl, jars, glitter powder, spatula.
- Difficulty level: Very Easy
- Suitable age: 7- 12 years
Get the slime from the market and pour it into a container. Now start adding Glitter powder to it. Using a spatula mix it well. Take the empty container and transfer this glittering shiny smile into it and close its lid.
Artificial Snow For Toys
- Materials required: Epsom salt, Container, glitter powder.
- Difficulty level: Very Easy
- Suitable age: 6-13 years
Get Epsom salt from the market and freeze it for one night. The next day pour this Epsom salt into an empty container and mix glitter powder with it. After mixing it properly, our playing snow sand is ready. Keep your toys in this DIY snow sand and play happily.
Finding Alphabet In Snow
- Materials required: Fresh snow, plastic alphabets, bucket, shovel.
- Difficulty level: Very Easy
- Suitable age: 6-11 years
Collect some fresh snow from outside your home in a bucket. Now get the plastic alphabets and hide them in the snow. Tell your friends to find the first alphabet of their name in the snow. They can start searching for the alphabet using the shovel. The one who first finds his / her names first alphabet is the winner of the game.
Yarn Snow Balls
- Materials required: Cardboard, scissors, yarn.
- Difficulty level: Easy
- Suitable age: 9-14 years
Take a cardboard piece and cut a notch at the centre of it. Take the yarn and wrap it around this cardboard piece. Take a strand of yarn and tie it at the centre where we have created a notch and get the wrapped yarn out of the cardboard.
Start cutting this yarn in vertical line except for the area where we have tied the yarn ( at the centre ). Snowballs are ready for a snow fight
Funny Snowman
- Materials required: Coloured papers, salt, glue.
- Difficulty level: Easy
- Suitable age: 8-14 years
Take a coloured sheet of paper and apply glue to it. Take some salt and sprinkle it on the glue in such a way so that the snowman’s body is created. Using scissors, cut different shapes like nose, eyes etc. Paste them on the face of the snowman.
Diy Snow
- Materials required: Baking soda, shaving cream, container.
- Difficulty level: Very Easy
- Suitable age: 6-12 years
Get an empty bowl and fill it with baking soda. Add shaving cream to this mixture slowly and we are done. Our artificial snow is ready.
Snow Covered Tree
- Materials required: Pipe cleaners, gems, glass plate, glue, pom poms
- Difficulty level: Easy
- Suitable age: 8- 3 years
Take the glass plate and using super glue, stick the pipe cleaner in the shape of a tree on the glass plate. Now again using glue paste the pom poms on the branches of the trees. To add more to this look, fix some gems on the glass plate.
Window snowman
- Materials required:Â Earbuds, cotton, glue.
- Difficulty level:Â Very Easy
- Suitable age:Â 7-8 years
Get your kid near a window. Tell her/him to create snowflakes out of earbuds and paste them on the window using glue. For creating snowballs, take cotton and create a ball shape out of it and paste it on the window with the help of glue.
Snow falling on the tree
- Materials required:-Â Brush, colours, paper.
- Difficulty level:Â Easy
- Suitable age:Â 8-13 years
Get a sheet of paper and draw the structure of a tree using a paintbrush. Take some colour on your fingertips and apply the impression on the tree branches as shown in the picture.
Snow lion
- Materials required:Â Glass container, salt, pebbles, toy lion.
- Difficulty level:Â Very easy
- Suitable age: 7-13 years
Take an empty glass container and fill it with salt. Collect some small pebbles and colour them with white paint and place them also in the jar or container. Get a toy lion and paint it white and keep it inside the jar.
Funny snowman
- Materials required:Â Flour dough, beads, straw, paper, scissors, yarn strand.
- Difficulty level:Â Very easy
- Suitable age:Â 8-13 years
Get flour dough and roll it between your palms so that a ball shape is created, mould it a little more to give a perfect shape of a snowman. Press beads at the bottom to create buttons for the snowman. Insert straw from both sides to create arms. For a muffler use a yarn strand and make a hat from paper.
Sledge ride
- Material required:Â Shaving foam, toyboy, bottle caps, hill shaped container.
- Difficulty level:Â Easy
- Suitable age:Â 9-13 years
Take any hill shaped container and place it upside down. Now spray the shaving foam all over it, it gives the illusion of snow. Take the bottle caps and tilt them such that the inner side of the cap faces upwards. Place your toy boy on the inner side of the cap so that it looks like a boy in the sledge.
Ice cream stick snowman
- Materials required:Â Shaving foam, thick cardboard piece, pom poms, ice cream sticks, beads.
- Difficulty level:Â Very easy.
- Suitable age:Â 7-12 years
Take a thick piece of cardboard and spray some foam from it. Now get the ice cream sticks and place them at the place of arms. Use the pom poms to represent buttons and beads to show the face features of the snowman.
Snowman shooter
- Materials required:Â Balloons, disposable cups, craft foam, glue, scissors, cotton.
- Difficulty level:Â Easy
- Suitable age:Â 9-13 years
Take some disposable cups and but their bottom portion. Now take the balloons and fix them at the top of the cups. Using foam craft decorate the face of the snowman. Stretch the balloons a little and keep the cotton ball inside them. Due to stretching the cotton ball will be pushed out. Play with this, it will be fun.
Happy snowman bin
- Materials required: Bin or container, balls, markers.
- Difficulty level:Â Very easy
- Suitable age:Â 7-13 years.
Take bin and balls. Using markers draw the eyes, nose and lips of the snowman. Keep this bin at some height and play by pushing the ball up and it should reach the bin.
Easy Snowman
- Materials required:Â Disposable glasses, foam strips, pom poms, markers, glue, yarn.
- Difficulty level:-Â Easy
- Suitable age:-Â 9-13 years
Take some disposable glasses and place them upside down. Cut long thin rectangular strips out of foam sheets and wrap them like mufflers around the glasses using glue. Take some yarn strings and paste pom poms on both sides and paste them at the top of the glasses so that headphones are created. Using a marker pen, draw the eyes of the snowman. Paste the nose made from a foam sheet at the centre of the face.
Snowman with a hat
- Materials required:Â Foam sheets, beads, glue, scissors.
- Difficulty level:Â Very Easy
- Suitable age:Â 9-13 years
Take a foam sheet of square shape and paste another foam sheet of hat shape over it using glue. Now paste some beads for showing the eyes of the snowman and the lips of the snowman. For nose cut triangular shape from foam and paste it.
Snowman nail art
- Materials required:Â Nail paint, thin brushes.
- Difficulty level:Â Easy
- Suitable age:Â 9-14 years
Apply nail paint on your hands. Using different colours draw the further detailing with the help of brushes of suitable sizes.
Caged snowman
- Materials required:Â Glass jars, flour dough, beads.
- Difficulty level:Â Easy
- Suitable age:Â 9- 13 years.

Fun with sugar cubes
- Materials required:Â Sugar cubes.
- Difficulty level:Â Very easy
- Suitable age:Â 7-12 years
Take a packed box of sugar cubes and open it. Take the sugar cubes out of the packet and try to build a tower as high as you can. Challenge your friends to build a tower as high as that of yours.
