DIY Easy Ant Artwork Using Crumpled Paper for Kids

Make something special with your kids using crumpled paper. Learn how to make a cool piece of art that your kids will enjoy with this fun do-it-yourself project! 

We are back with another ant craft tutorial, this time using crumpled sheets of paper as one of the required materials. It is extremely simple to make and the step involving the crumpling of the sheets can be very enjoyable. So, collect all the material required, and let’s start making this craft.

Materials Required

• A white and a yellow sheet of chart paper
• A pair of scissors
• A black crayon
• Black clay dough
• Bunch of googly eyes
• Black sketch pen
• A glue stick
• A green and a red sketch pen

Procedure

Step 1: Working On The Sheets Of Paper

Take a white sheet of paper and cut a circle out of it. Now, take a yellow sheet of paper and cut it into a circle as well. Also, cut off a little area at the top section of the circle. Finally, taking the sheet in your hand, crush it crumpling the sheet completely. See the picture below for reference.

Step 2: Colour The Crumpled Sheet

Open the crumpled sheet and place it on the surface. Now take a black crayon and start coloring the sheet. Make gentle strokes in order to achieve the desired look as shown in the picture below.

Step 3: Cutting The Sheet With Your Hands From Ready Sheet

Cut this crumpled sheet using your own hands instead of the scissors. This needs to be done in order to achieve a haphazard finish in making the cuts. Make two big cuts on the right of the sheet and the left side of the sheet. Now, for the sheet left in the middle make two cuts creating three pieces out of it. Step 4: Place The Cut Pieces On The White Sheet

Paste the piece cut from the left side of the sheet on the left side of the white sheet placed on the table as shown in the picture below.

Step 5: Pasting All The Pieces On The White Sheet

Place the three small pieces in the middle and the piece cut from the right side of the crumpled sheet on the right side of the white sheet below. All these pieces should be placed at a distance from each other. See the picture below for reference.

Step 6: Work On The Clay To Make The Ants

Take black clay and mold two balls, one bigger than the other and a third conical shape, out of it. Now, connect the three shapes by placing the small ball in the middle of the big ball and the cone. Make four such shapes and place one between the sheet on the piece of the crumpled sheet on the right and the piece in the middle. See the picture below for reference.

Step 7: Place All The Ants

Place the rest of the three ants in each gap between the crumpled sheets as well. See the picture below for reference.

Step 8: Make The Legs Of The Ants

First, paste a googly eye on the ant at the top and the ant on the extreme left. Now, using a black sketch pen, draw six legs on the right side of the ants with googly eyes. For the rest of the two ants draw three legs on each side. See the picture below for reference.

Step 9: Draw Some Grass On The White Sheet

Using a green sketch pen, draw some grass on the white sheet right above the crumpled sheets. See the picture below for reference.

Step 10: Adding Some More Grass

Now, draw some more grass strands on the grass you already drew using a dark green sketch pen. See the picture below for reference

Step 11: Adding Some Flowers

Take a red sketch pen and make plenty of dots on top of the grass strands that you just drew. Now, add some dots in the gaps between the crumpled sheets. See the picture below for reference.

Finally, Beautiful Little Ants Are Good To Go

This completes the craft and we are left with lovely little ants emerging from their colonies to collect food.

This tutorial taught you a new way of working with sheets of paper and creating crafts through it. You also learned great molding skills as well.
