This is a tutorial which shows how to make an explosion box easily. 

DIY Cardboard Gift Box

A beautiful finished DIY gift box made using cardboard and decorative paper

Required Material:

• Cardboard
• Wrapping paper or normal paper (Outside)
• Some thick paper, card stock (For the inside)
• Box cutter and scissors
• Glue or tape
• Ribbons, bows, etc (for decoration)

Preparing equal-sized cardboard pieces for the box structure

Steps: 1

• Measure and mark equal squares on the cardboard
• Cut out multiple square pieces
• Keep extra strips for edges and support

Marking the folding layout for accurate box construction

Steps: 2

• Draw a cross/grid layout on cardboard
• Ensure all sides are equal
• Add extra margins for folding flaps

Cutting the drawn layout to form the box base

Steps: 3

• Carefully cut along the drawn lines
• Separate side panels and flaps
• Keep edges neat for clean folding

Covering cardboard pieces for a decorative finish

Steps: 4

• Cut paper slightly larger than cardboard
• Paste paper on cardboard surface
• Fold edges neatly and glue

Drawing the lid structure for the gift box

Steps: 5

• Draw a cross shape for lid
• Ensure size is slightly bigger than base
• Mark folding lines clearly

Cutting out the lid template for assembly

Steps: 6

• Cut along outer lines
• Keep fold lines intact
• Prepare for folding

Folding and gluing the base into a box

Steps: 7

• Fold along marked lines
• Apply glue on flaps
• Join edges to form box

Creating strips to strengthen and decorate edges

Steps: 8

• Cut long thin strips
• Cover with paper
• Use for edge finishing

Fixing side walls to complete box structure

Steps: 9

• Attach strips to edges
• Reinforce corners
• Let glue dry properly

Enhancing the box with ribbon for a gift look

• Wrap ribbon around box
• Fix with glue or tape
• Add decorative bow
