Materials Required

• A Sky blue scrap paper
• Colorful sheets
• Small eyes
• Sketch pens

Procedure

Step 1: Cutting Two Dome Shaped Structures From A Colorful Sheet

Take a colorful sheet and draw two dome-shaped structures ( a bigger dome and a smaller dome as shown below ). After that, with the help of a pair of scissors cut the structure drawn very carefully, such that it resembles the image below. That was the very first step for making our icy octopus.

Step 2: Sticking The Two Structures Together

Take the smaller dome and stick it on the bigger dome with the help of glue. Hold it for a few seconds until the glue is dried.

Step 3: Making Legs Of Octopus With The Same Coloured Sheet

For making the legs of the octopus cut the same colored sheet in a rectangle with the dimension 1 * 10 cm. An octopus has 8 legs in total, therefore make sure you have also cut 8 such rectangular figures with the exact same dimensions.

Step 4: Sticking The Legs Of Octopus

Moving to the next step, you have to place all 8 legs of the octopus in the pattern displayed below and stick them as shown. Wait for a few seconds till the legs of the octopus are passed successfully. And with this, you have completed half of your origami.

Step 5: Sticking The Eyes Of Octopus On The Smaller Dome

For the next step, you have to reverse the octopus and stick its eyes on the smaller dome which you have structured.

Step 6: Enhancing The Look Of Octopus With Your Sketches

After sticking the eyes of the octopus, it’s time to sketch its facial expressions. This simple effort could enhance the look of your octopus. Take a black sketch pen and draw a smile on the face of your octopus to make sure that your octopus is happy. Take another sketch and draw the design of the sidelines as shown.

Step 7: Twist And Curl The Legs Of Octopus To Make It Look More Attractive

Next, you have to twist and curl the legs of the octopus in the manner shown below. This step will make your octopus look more realistic and elegant.

Step 8: Twist And Curl All The Eight Legs In A Similar Manner

After curling the 1st one it’s time to do the same with the rest as well so, that all 8 legs look pretty similar. Twist and curl all the legs of the octopus as shown below.

Step 9: Making More Such Octopus For Your Ocean

Take some coloring sheets and make more such octopuses to beautifully decorate your ocean.  Once you have learned the skills you can make more of them in a very less amount of time. Also, they will act as a companion to your first octopus.

Step 10: Sticking All Octopus In A Plain Blue Sheet

After you are done crafting and decorating your octopuses stick them to your empty ocean to give them more life. Wait for a few seconds until they are stuck firmly to the sheet.

Step 11: Drawing Tiny Bubbles On The Blue Paper

To make your ocean more fancy and alluring draw small bubbles on the blue sheet in the same manner shown below.

Step 12: Pasting Tiny Fishes On Your Ocean With The Help Of Glue

On the colorful sheets draw fishes of small size with the help of a pencil. Cut the drawn image neatly with the help of scissors. Then paste your lovely fish into the ocean.
